FOCUS

“Yesterday ended last night.” Now there’s something to think about when it comes to thinking about an increasingly brighter, more powerful & preferable future. It’s a quote from Lee Iacocca, the man Chrysler hired to rescue them from the disaster the K-Car turned out to be. Fifteen or so minutes into leading his first board meeting he asked everyone to leave. When they came back in, they saw that he had written that sentence on a white board. He insisted that 100% of the board members understood & affirmed its truth before they would even consider moving forward in their discussions.

We need to be sure our thoughts move us forward to what can & should be.

Forward Thinking Requires …

1. an awareness of the futility of living in the past or for the moment.

If your thoughts are tethered to only what has been or is, what can be gets throttled.

Philippians 3:7-14 (especially v13b) & 17-19 / 1 Corinthians 13:

2. a passion for God’s kingdom to influence & impact the days ahead.

Today changes tomorrow as kingdom minded difference makers embrace change.

Matthew 6:10 / Proverbs 2:1-6

Making It Real

1] What can you do to move more of your thoughts from the past to the future?

2] How many of your thoughts & actions connected to God’s kingdom agenda?
